Hopefully this is cool with the board, I joined earlier in the Summer and am one raffle ticket in the waiting for one of the new BMW's!
I'm looking to sell my Y2k M5 and pay down my student loans.
2000 e39 M5, black on black with wood trim. Just under 57k original miles on it. Originally a California car, came to Texas around 2008. You will be hard pressed to find another one as clean with as low of miles. Clean CarFax, never been wrecked. Have original build sheet data, as well as some original 2000 MY M and M5 brochures. Sold new in July of 2000 for $74k.
* Changed the the rotors and pads, going with StopTech/Centric rotors (cross drilled and slotted that look like ones on new M5), new StopTech pads, and S/S lines. (05/12)
* Upgraded the navigation computer to the MkIV DVD based unit that originally came out in the 2003 M5 (part from a 2005 X5,) along with the 2012 set of BMW East and West DVD maps. (05/12)
* Upgraded to the 6.5" 16:9 widescreen nav display that originally came out in 2001 M5 (part from a 2003 M5 that literally still looks new;) Have orig 4:3 nav display and radio with original wood trim piece. (04/12)
* Replaced the power steering reservoir (& filter) along with the two low pressure lines (05/12)
* New transmission and differential fluid, and changed the oil (LubriMoly 10w60) and filter. (05/12)
* Battery was replaced with original BMW battery in 2011. (10/11)
It's otherwise an unmolested example, it runs great, A/C is ice cold, and the radiator keeps it running where it should even in the heat of the Summer.
Thanks,
Ryan
