I just bought a 2013 BMW 550i, I have until January 25th to decide if I would like to buy the extended warranty. Is it worth it? What tends to wear out and break down most often?
New to BMW and wanted to know what to expect, any and all advice is welcome.

I'm in the same boat as you only I have a 2013 535i...just purchased it. According to my mechanic (not bmw dealership), bmw's often have oil leaks, main seal leaks and suspension issues. I am going to buy a 3rd party extended warranty and I think you could buy one anytime with no pressure... do your homework on those. Hope that helps.
