i'm new to the E36. i'm more used to my E24.
car: 1999 E36 M3. no mods. not raced (that i know of).
the left rear trailing arm has ripped out of the pocket, pulling all 3 bolts and their bungs right out of the unibody. (http://wtmi.net/bmw/1999e36reartrailing.jpg)
the body shop i originally had it towed to (which i've used before on 2 separate E24s) was reluctant to work on it, and recommended another collision repair shop nearby (9 miles) for the job.
looking around, i see that i need(ed - past tense) the reinforcement plates on the pockets.
does anyone have a recommendation in the DFW area for a shop that could repair this? some place with experience in this era BMWs?

Try Vorshlag - www.vorshlag.com. They installed the reinforcement kit on my e46 M3.

If you don't find someone in your area to take care of this, give us a call we have done several.

I just did this repair to my 99 M3. Turner sells the kit, its not all that hard to do, but does require welding and an alignement when you are done. This is a common failure on tracked cars.
